Mist eliminators are used to separate droplets carried by the flue gas. In the absorption tower, it consists of upper and lower secondary demisters (horizontal or diamond or herringbone) and flushing water system (including pipes, valves and nozzles, etc.). The purified flue gas flows through the two-stage mist eliminator, and the slurry droplets carried by it are removed. The small droplets separated from the flue gas slowly condense into larger droplets, and then slide down the mist eliminator blades to the slurry pool. There are a set of headers with nozzles on the upper and lower parts of the primary demister and the lower part of the secondary demister. Mist eliminators in the header The cleaning water passes through the nozzles to flush the solid particles deposited in the demister in turn. After washing and purification, the flue gas flows out of the absorption tower and is finally discharged into the chimney through the flue gas heat exchanger and the clean flue.
The wire mesh demister is divided into top-loading type and bottom-loading type. When the manhole is located above the wire mesh demister, the top-mounted wire mesh demister is selected; when the manhole is located below the wire mesh demister, the bottom-mounted wire mesh demister is selected.
According to the structural design of the gas storage container, the wire mesh demister should be installed above the manhole, so the bottom-mounted installation structure is adopted.
Mist Eliminator demister effect
The gas-liquid separation efficiency of the wire mesh demister consists of two parts, namely the direct interception and separation efficiency and the inertial impact efficiency.
(1) Direct interception
When the gas flows through the wire mesh structure, if the droplets in the gas are larger than the pore size of the wire mesh structure, they will be intercepted by the pores and separated. If the droplets hit the screen directly, they will also be intercepted. Direct interception can collect - a certain number of particles smaller than their pore size
(2) Inertial impact
A droplet has mass and velocity in a flowing gas, so it has momentum. When the gas and the droplets entrained by it pass through the wire mesh, the gas will choose the channel with the least resistance to flow through, and will change direction along the wire mesh structure, that is, the streamline will be deflected.
Because the droplets have momentum, the larger droplets still move forward in a straight line due to inertia, so that the droplets located in the center of the airflow or close to the center of the airflow are thrown or impacted on the screen and separated. In gas-liquid separation, the effect of inertial impact on large droplets with a particle size larger than 20 μm is obvious.
