Metal Structured Packing introduce:
The structured packing is a kind of packing which is arranged in uniform geometric pattern and neatly stacked in the tower. Because it has the advantages of large specific surface area, small pressure drop, uniform fluid distribution, high mass and heat transfer rate, it has been applied. The early development is metal structured packing, plastic structured packing, ceramic structured packing and carbon fiber structured packing have been developed.
Stainless steel wire mesh corrugated packing is characterized by: high theoretical plate number, large flux, low pressure drop, low load function, theoretical tray number increase and the reduction of gas load, no low load, large elasticity of operation, not clear extension effect, and can satisfied the requirement of accurate, large and high vacuum distillation unit. The separation of difficult separation system, thermal sensitive system and distillation of high purity products provides favorable conditions.
Metal Structured Packing Application
Typical operating conditions for structured metal packings have the following characteristics:
• Low liquid load
• High gas load
• Low pressure drop requirements
These conditions are common in many vacuum distillation and rectification processes and applications in amine scrubbers, carbon 3- and carbon 4-cracking furnaces, and fine chemicals.
Metal structured packings are available in the following designs:
• Smooth or textured surface
• Surface with or without holes
• X or Y design, 45° or 60° corrugation angle
• N (standard model) or S (high performance model)*
Plastic structured packing is RPP series. Similar to metal fillers, there are traditional N series and high performance S and SP series.
The material can be PP, PE, PVDF (customers have other requirements).
